تقود هدير شلبي عبر فريزيانا واحدة من أوسع منظومات دعم الحرف اليدوية والفنون التقليدية في أفريقيا: آلاف الحرفيات في مصر وتونس والمغرب والجزائر يتعلّمن كيف تُدمج الحرفة التراثية في منتج عصري له سوق. وإلى جانب ذلك نظّمت فريزيانا ورعَت برامج تبادل ثقافي بين أفريقيا ودول آسيوية لصون التراث غير المادي ونقل خبرته بين الأجيال — من غرفة واحدة في قرية بالمنوفية إلى حضور في عشر دول. Through Freeziana, Hadeer Shalaby leads one of Africa's widest ecosystems for handicrafts and traditional arts: thousands of women artisans in Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria learning how to turn a heritage craft into a modern product with a market. Alongside this, Freeziana has organised and sponsored cultural exchange programmes between Africa and Asia to safeguard intangible heritage and pass its know-how on — from one room in a Menoufia village to a presence in ten countries.

نشأتُ في قرية صغيرة بالمنوفية، وكنت أرى كل صباح نساءً وفتياتٍ يصعدن إلى سيارات غير آمنة تنقلهنّ إلى مزارع ومصانع بعيدة — ساعات طويلة تحت الشمس، وتحرّش، وإهانة، ونحو ثلاثة دولارات في نهاية اليوم.
في 2018 افتتحتُ مع شريكي أمجد أول «مركز استدامة» من مدّخراتنا الخاصة: مكان آمن تتعلّم فيه المرأة حرفة، وتعمل، وتترك أطفالها في رعاية على بُعد خطوات. نجحت الفكرة فواصلنا؛ واليوم صارت منظومة من ستة برامج: مراكز في سبع محافظات، وحافلة تعلّم متنقلة، ومنصة تعليمية بالعربية، وسوق إلكتروني، وحاضنة، ومدرسة للأزياء المستدامة.
I grew up in a small village in Menoufia. Every morning I watched women and girls climb into unsafe trucks bound for distant farms and factories — long hours under the sun, harassment, humiliation, and about three dollars at the end of the day.
In 2018, my co-founder Amgad and I used our own savings to open the first Estidama Center: a safe place to learn a craft, to work, and to leave your children in care a few steps away. It worked, so we kept going. Today it is an ecosystem of six programs — centers in seven governorates, a mobile learning bus, an Arabic learning platform, a marketplace, an incubator and a sustainable fashion school.

فريزيانا لم تُنشأ لتدريب النساء فقط. أُنشئت لتغيير هذه المعادلة الثلاثية: عمل قريب من البيت، بأجر عادل، وبرعاية للأطفال على بُعد خطوات.Freeziana was not built simply to train women. It was built to change those three terms at once: work close to home, at a fair price, with childcare a few steps away.

افتتحت هدير وشريكها أمجد أول مركز في قريتها بالمنوفية من مدّخراتهما الخاصة: غرفة واحدة للتعلّم والعمل ورعاية الأطفال، وأول معرض لبيع ما أنتجته النساء.Hadeer and her co-founder Amgad opened the first center in her Menoufia village from their own savings: one room to learn, work and leave the children — and a first market to sell what the women made.

الدباغة والخرازة من أقدم حرف القاهرة، وما زالت تُورَّث من الأسطى للصبي.Tanning and saddlery are among Cairo’s oldest trades, still handed from master to apprentice.
لمّ بواقي القماش وخياطتها عادة بيتية قديمة لا ترمي شيئًا.Gathering fabric offcuts and sewing them together is an old household habit that throws nothing away.

أربعة مسارات تبدأ بخامة كان مصيرها الحرق أو المقلب وتنتهي بمنتج له سعر. الاستدامة هنا ليست شعارًا بل مصدر الخامة نفسه.Four routes that start with a material headed for the fire or the dump and end with a product that has a price.
